The Development of the Augmented Reality Application for Promoting Community Tourism in Muangkaen Pattana Municipality, Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai

Important tourist attractions in Muangkaen Pattana Municipality have an interesting history, but this tourist attraction does not yet have many people providing detailed information about the location to tourists. Therefore, the purposes of this research were 1) to develop the virtual reality technology application for promoting community tourism and 2) to assess the users' satisfaction with community tourism promotion applications by using the virtual reality technology application. Two sample groups consisted of A sample group of 5 people was used to evaluate the efficiency of the application using a specific method, and a sample group of 30 people was used to evaluate satisfaction with using the application using a simple random sampling method. The research instruments used were the efficiency evaluation form and the satisfaction questionnaire. The statistical tools used for data analysis were mean and standard deviation. The research results were: 1) community tourism promotion applications present tourist attraction information using virtual reality technology applications in two formats, as follows: 1.1) Use the application to scan through posters. The application will display tourist attractions in the form of 3D models, and 1.2) scanning through the marker from the actual location will display tourist attraction information as a video. And 2) the performance evaluation results from experts were at the most appropriate level. The mean was 4.54, the standard deviation was 0.64, and overall user satisfaction was at a high level. The mean was 4.47, and the standard deviation was 0.66. thus ensuring that it can actually be used to promote community tourism.
