A study of Demanding Characteristics for Information Services in Digital Library of University Students and Higher-education Teachers in Bangkok Metropolitan Region

This research has been undertaken to investigate the study of demanding characteristics for information services in digital library of university students and highereducation teachers in Bangkok metropolitan region, and so does the comparison of the demanding characteristics among the population in the same vicinity. The sampling of this survey study is a group of 402 university students and higher-education teachers. A set of questionnaires are prepared focusing on research’s instrument. The obtained data is analyzed by t-test independent using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation and is explained by descriptive statistics The results of the research reveal that the demanding characteristics of technology and physical environment ranks the highest demand among the university students and higher-education teachers in Bangkok metropolitan region, followed by library services and information resources. Especially, that of the diversity of information services becomes more needed when it comes to the university teachers in the Bangkok surrounding areas rather than in Bangkok metropolitan area. To illustrate, compared with the study of demanding characteristics for information services in digital library of university students and higher-education teachers in Bangkok metropolitan region, the overall demand includes the technology services, physical environment, and library services as accounted for equally 4.0 average. Information resources comes second most as accounted for 3.8 average. As for university students and higher-education teachers around the Bangkok surroundings, overall, technology services come first at 4.2 average, followed by library service at 4.1 average. Physical environment come last at equally 4.0 average.
