The Program Development Of Database System On Herbal Plants : A Case Study Of Maejo University.

Abstract

Maejo University is a leading agricultural oriented institue. It is a source of various crops learning ; particularly herbal plants which are beneficial to basic public health. In order to maintain this Thai wisdoms and support the knowledge agricultural park ( KAP ) on herbal plants data of the university, therefore , there is an idea to conduct this study and develop the database and information of herbal plants. This aims to increase effective database accessibility. It presents biodiversity of herbal plants based on plant names in Thai and English scientific names , common names based on locality , pictures of herbal plants , the medicinal propertics for healing diseases , etc. This will lead to the protection of listed endangered species , rare plant genes , and an increase of local herbal plant value.
