THAI Poetry through A 3D Horror Game

Abstract

Thai poems represent the beauty of the language of the Thai people. It reflects the habit of Thai people who like to say rhythmic rhymes and the continuous nature of internal and external rhyme. In addition, the outstanding thing about Thai words is that they have a beautiful sound like music with high and low pitches. The students were unable to compose a verse and did not understand the true meaning of the words. Using difficult words without understanding their meaning and being unable to remember the obligatory nature of the verse, the Thai poem game was developed for students as a tool for skill development. It consists of four steps: 1) Word Education (WE); 2) Relationship Education between Sentences (RES); 3) Relationship Education between Sentences of a Quatrain (RESQ); and 4) Relationship Education between Sentences of a Thai Octameter Poem (RESTOP). The Thai poetry skill test has been assigned to a sample group of 20 students to take the system test to test the effectiveness of Thai poetry skill development. The students were asked to play the game for three rounds. The experimental results showed that the WE skills received an average score of 8.15, 8.75, and 9.35, respectively. The RES skill received an average score of 27.85, 32.70, and 35.55 points, respectively. The RESQ skill received an average score of 46.80, 52.20, and 57.55, respectively. and the RESTOP skill received an average score of 8.85, 11.50, and 12.35, respectively. On average, it was found that students tended to increase in all skill development areas.
